Trapped inside oneself
Not knowing how or why
Just accepting circumstance
Like a bird that's forgotten how to fly.

Limitations chain
Freezing thought and deed.
No action but inaction
Until the mind is freed.

Contemplation lacking
Caught in a web of lies
Letting hate and fear fed
Slowly the soul dies.

No wall, no real chains
Just self defeat and pity
Confining the good self
In an illusory city.

   * Isolation
     Degradation
     Self destruction
     Little hope unless one realizes
     The key to escape lies within them.
     Unlock the door
     Set themselves free.

Trepidation of whats to come
Preferring darkness, hollow calm
Outside is a maelstrom
For which there is no balm.

Merry-Go-Round forever spinning
No release no slowing
Fear, self hatred, resentment
Unchained and quickly growing.

Beaten and battered by oneself
Near to the point of surrender
Self pity takes control
Shields the self from eternal splendor.


Break the chains
Unseal the inner door
Set yourself free
Life hold so much more.
